   Step 1:   You must first go to Google Accounts, after visiting Google Accounts login with that Gmail Account which you want to delete. After login, you will have to click on "Data & Personalisation".

After clicking on "Data & Personalisation", you will need to scroll down.
  Step 2:   After that, you will see an option of "Delete a service or your account", and you have to click on this option to delete your Gmail account.


  Step 3:   After clicking "Delete a service or your account" you will need to click on 'Delete a service'.


  Step 4:   After clicking "Delete a service", you will need to enter your Gmail account password.
After entering the password you will need to click "Next".


  Step 5:   After clicking "Next", the new page will be open, and from here you can delete the Google service you want. So if you want to delete your Gmail account, you can delete it by clicking on the trash can icon next to Gmail.


  Step 6:   After clicking on the trash can icon, a dialogue box will prompt and here you will be asked for an alternate email address which should not be a Gmail address. In this dialogue box message, you will be informed that if you want to continue with Google's other services like Google Play, YouTube, Docs, Games, Calendar etc., then you will have to enter an alternate email address so that you can sign in with it, but it can't be a Gmail address. So here you will have to enter a different email address other than the Gmail address and keep in mind that just enter the email address you are using. Because Google sends an email for verification to the same email address that you enter here.
At the bottom of this dialogue box, you will also see the message that, unless you enter an email address and click on "SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL" to verify your new email address, your Gmail account will not be deleted.
So here you have to enter a different email address other than the Gmail address and click on the 'SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL".


  Step 7:   After clicking on "SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL", again a dialogue box will prompt and in this dialogue box you will be told that "a message will be sent from us (google) to verify your request to delete your Gmail account".
Some instructions will also be given in the dialogue box about the verification email. According to the instructions given in the dialogue box, you have to check the email address that you previously entered.
A message will be sent to that email address with the subject line "Gmail Deletion Confirmation", you have to open this message and click on the link provided in the message to verify your request.
If you want, you can read these instructions and then you have to click on "GOT IT".


  Step 8:   Then, the alternate email address that you entered earlier will receive an email with the subject line "Google Deletion Confirmation". You have to open this email and click on the link provided in it.
After that a page will open, you will need to scroll down and then you will get an option "Yes I want to delete ******** gmail.com permanently from my Google account" then you have to check this option and click on "DELETE GMAIL".

After this, your Gmail will be deleted from the Google Account and you can now use the new email address to log in to your Google Account, which was entered to verify the request for the deletion of Gmail account.
