Whenever we download any Media File such as Images, Videos etc. from WhatsApp, so those Media Files are shown in the gallery of our Mobile Phones. From WhatsApp, we share several media files with each other daily, in the same way when we download those files, WhatsApp itself saves those files automatically in our mobile phone's gallery. So when we open our mobile phone gallery, we can see all the images and videos we downloaded from WhatsApp.
Whether We download the media files sent by a WhatsApp personal contact, or We download media files shared in the WhatsApp group, all the media files will be visible by default in our mobile phone's gallery.
But there are some images and videos that we do not want to show to any other person. And in the images and videos downloaded from WhatsApp, you will also have some personal images or videos that you want to hide from other people. Or maybe you want to hide all the WhatsApp images and videos, from your mobile phone's gallery. So now it is possible in WhatsApp's new features, now you can prevent from showing up in your mobile phone's gallery, all the images or videos you download from WhatsApp. But if you only want to hide media files from one or any specific WhatsApp contact or group, then you can also do this.
So you have to follow these steps to hide Whatsapp images and videos from your mobile phone's gallery.

Hide all newly downloaded WhatsApp Images and Videos from Gallery


Step 1: First you have to open your WhatsApp, on the top right you will see 'three dots', you have to tap on these three dots.


After tapping on 'three dots', you have to go to Settings. After going to settings you have to tap on the Chats.



Step 2: After tapping on chats, you will see the option of 'Media Visibility'. 'Media Visibility' option will already be checked by default, and it means it is applied on 'Yes'.  So you just have to uncheck it and it will be applied to 'No'.


After unchecking, any more images and videos you download from WhatsApp will not be visible in your mobile phone's gallery.


Hide Media Files from one or any specific WhatsApp Contact or Group

It is also very easy to do if you want to hide some or any specific chat of your WhatsApp media files from the mobile phone's gallery.

Step 1: After you open WhatsApp, if you want to hide downloaded images and videos of specific Whatsapp Group or Contact from your mobile phone's gallery, then open that Contact's chat or Group's chat. After that tap on the name of the Contact or Group or anywhere at the top of Contact or Group. After this, you will see the option of 'Media Viability' and you have to tap on it.




Step 2: After tapping on 'Media Visibility' you will see a dialogue box, there will be three options Default (Yes), Yes and No. So here you have to select 'No' to hide newly downloaded WhatsApp media files from your mobile phone's gallery.  Tap on 'OK' after you choose 'No'.


You're done! now newly downloaded WhatsApp Media like Images and Videos will not be visible in your mobile phone's gallery.
One thing to remember is that when you hide media files from your mobile phone's gallery, those media files will be visible in your WhatsApp chats and that media files are also saved in your mobile phone's storage. Because whenever you download any file from WhatsApp, it will be saved in your mobile phone's storage whether it appears in your mobile phone's gallery or not. 
The second thing to note is that whenever you want you can change the settings as before, and you can show up all the downloaded WhatsApp Media files like Images and Videos in your mobile phone's gallery.
